Born and raised in the rural Dutch region of Twente, with a love for all things beautiful. After my training as a graphic designer and photographer, I started to transform my sense of beauty into digital paintings. When a picture says more than a thousand words, a painting tells a complete story of which the viewer can fill in the details him- or herself.
Just as a painting can convey emotions and stories with colors and textures, music can do so with a melody, rhythm and notes. As a multi-instrumentalist with a penchant for the saxophone, I like to be inspired by songs that know how to evoke your feelings. Transformed into instrumental and jazzy versions where the saxophone plays a central role, without being overpowering.
MY PAINTINGS MY MUSIC
Every form of art needs its own tools, in my case mainly Photoshop for my paintings and Acoustica Mixcraft combined with Native Instruments for my music. But by far the most important tool is my creativity, imagination, wonder and admiration for the beauty of everything that lives and is around me. The beauty I try to put into my work can only come from looking and feeling the beauty that is all around us.
Everything I make, I make out of love for the art, the music, the subject matter but most of all out of love for the making itself. Without any commercial interest and the intention to turn my work into money. I love making and what I make and that is the valuable thing about making. The only thing that can increase the value of making is sharing when the work is made and that is what I do through this website.
Anything around me can inspire me, but it's mostly people, landscapes and animals that spark my creativity. I also have a fascination for the futuristic and distopian world called cyberpunk. The almost artistic industrial buildings and the many neon lights have something sad and uplifting in one.
As a man but also simply as a human being, I am an admirer of the natural strength and beauty of the female body. This power and beauty is even better when the woman is portrayed in her vulnerable nakedness. Not from a sexual point of view, but from the independent power that she expresses when she is at her most vulnerable.
